About Me
I have lived in Spruce Grove for over 11 years with my husband and our two children. I am a proud mother of two school- aged children .
I work as a child care professional and also run my own business, providing child care services to families in our community.
I am aware of the pros and cons within our public school system. I would love to have the opportunity to be apart of creating a culture of true inclusion, respect and safety . I will work to ensure students and parents have a voice in anti-bullying initiatives. I will work to ensure that every child no matter their racial background who have faced systematic barriers in our public education system has true inclusion.
Inclusion isn't just about being present in the classroom, it's about being respected, empowered, and fully supported to succeed.
Services

True Inclusion
Every student should feel valued, welcome and part of the community no matter their racial background. I have had the privilege of speaking with parents of different racial backgrounds and there is a concern for their children not being valued because of their skin colour.
I believe that every student/child should be genuinely valued, protected from harm and represented meaningfully.

Staff and Support Educators
Support staff and educators who do the critical, behind-the-scenes every day work, deserve to be seen and appreciated more often. I will advocate for fair wages that reflect the real value of their work.

Parent's Voice & Partnership
Every parent's voice deserves to be heard in decision-making. Parents should actively participate in the choices made for their children, as they are the first educators and essential partners in ensuring student success. Parents have the right to be involved in decision making that affect their children,
Mumbi is a source of positivity and thoughtfulness. Her experience as a long time childcare provider gives her a unique perspective on children's and families needs. I trust that she will take the time to understand and advocate for the needs of students within the Parkland School Division.

I have had the privilege of knowing Mumbi Maina for many years and can confidently attest to her dedication and integrity. She is a responsible advocate who believes that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in spaces where they feel they belong, regardless of who they are or their background.
As a child care business owner with extensive experience in child care and child psychology, Mumbi has consistently demonstrated excellence in her work and a deep commitment to children’s well-being and development.
I strongly believe that Mumbi Maina will bring the same passion, expertise, and leadership to the role of School Trustee. I wholeheartedly recommend her and encourage you to vote for Mumbi Maina in the upcoming elections.

I believe that Mumbi will be a great addition to the board. She is involved in the community and she sees the best in children especially working with small children.
